The inaugural "Universal ESG Awards," jointly hosted by the "Environment, Society, and Governance (ESG) Institute" and the "Hong Kong Small and Medium Enterprises Chamber of Commerce," was held at the Hong Kong Bankers Club. The evening commenced with the Nongpo Road Government Primary School Choir performing the heartwarming song "Big Hand, Small Hand," setting the tone for the event. Over a hundred leaders from the financial, construction, and technology sectors gathered to witness a significant milestone in Hong Kong's ESG innovation.

Professor Ho On-shing, Chairman of the Construction Industry Council, shared three breakthroughs in the industry's transformation during his keynote address: over 500 construction projects received the "4S Safety Label" certification, the advancement of the "Construction Industry Digitalization and New Productivity Enhancement Program," and the establishment of the "Construction Materials Exchange Platform," showcasing Hong Kong's construction industry's leadership in safety, efficiency, and sustainable development.

Representatives from multiple banks engaged in in-depth dialogues with six award-winning enterprises to explore how financial instruments can support ESG innovation. The six innovative solutions recognized this year include: Silent Technology Group's "Urban Silence Shield" made from recycled plastics, Lisdi Systems' intelligent energy-saving curtains, InnoBlock Technology's blockchain traceability system, Blue Earth's smart recycling solutions, Hong Kong Nanjore Data's green computing power technology, and China State Construction International's Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) system. These innovations not only address real-world challenges but also demonstrate that sustainability and commercial value can coexist harmoniously.

Engineer Ho Chi-ching, CEO of BEAM Society, highlighted the importance of collaboration between the industry and regulators to transform ESG-related investments into "assets," encouraging SMEs to actively participate in sustainable development under economic incentives. He shared BEAM Society's valuable experience in promoting green construction.

Mr. Chow Hin-pun, Executive Director of the "Environment, Society, and Governance (ESG) Institute," concluded his speech by emphasizing the true essence of "universality": "Everyone is a stakeholder in ESG. This is not a race but a relay. The trophies awarded tonight are not the end but the starting point of the next journey." His words resonated with the audience.

This edition of the trophy adopts the design concept of "Sustainable Cycling," carrying profound significance:

Environment (E): The front wheel serves as a guide, symbolizing clear and feasible environmental protection goals.

Social (S): The bicycle frame embodies unity and strength, representing a solid foundation of inclusivity and harmony.

Governance (G): The rear wheel propels forward, reflecting the transformative drive of accountability mechanisms.

As the trophy conveys the message: "Keep Cycling—The Journey of Sustainable Development." The organizers announced plans to connect with more companies with "Universal ESG Innovation Solutions" to continue promoting cross-sector collaboration and to begin preparations for next year's "Eco-Friendly Solutions" awards.
